SUNFLOWER BUNS RECIPE – Nothing beats the smell of fresh bread filling your home 🙂

SUNFLOWER BUNS RECIPE


Ingredients:

  • 15 g/½ oz fresh yeast
  • 250 ml/1 cup milk
  • 500 g/4 cups wheat flour
  • 400 g/2 cups sugar
  • 125 ml/½ cup warm water
  • 55 g/2 oz melted butter
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • sunflower seeds


Method:

  1. Prepare yeast solution: crumble the yeast into a bowl, add 1 tbsp sugar and mash them together. Once they turn liquid, add 1 tbsp flour and milk, then mix it well, cover the bowl and set aside for around 15 minutes in a warm place to grow.
  2. Put the remaining flour and sugar into a bowl, add salt, water and yeast solution. Knead everything well, then pour butter in and mix again into a smooth dough. Next, move it to a bowl greased with olive oil, cover the lid and again set it aside for around 30 minutes in warm place to grow.
  3. Separate the grown dough into 10 equal parts and form them into buns. Place the buns on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a cloth and yet again set aside to grow for 15 minutes.
  4. Beat the egg in a small bowl. Uncover the buns and brush the top of each with the egg, then sprinkle with sunflower seeds. Bake the buns for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C/360°F.
