CREAM FRIED CABBAGE RECIPE – A classic side to any dish, it has many variations and is very popular in Poland. This one is quite healthy, filled with fruits, vegetables and herbs 🙂
CREAM FRIED CABBAGE RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 1 young cabbage
- 1 tomato
- 2 small apples
- 1 onion
- oregano
- sweet pepper
- 200 ml/7 fl oz sour cream
- 50 g/1¾ oz butter
- 1 bunch of dill, chopped
- 250 ml/1 cup vegetable stock
- 1 bunch of parsley, chopped
- juice from ½ lemon
- salt
- black pepper
Method:
- Cut the cabbage into smaller pieces and move them into a big pot. Add vegetable stock and cook over high heat and under a lid, until the cabbage reduces its volume by half.
- Wash all fruits and vegetables. Cut the tomato into smaller. Peel and remove the cores from apples, then slice them. Peel and slice the onion finely. Throw all those ingredients into the pot, stir well, add lemon juice and salt. Cover the pot and simmer until the flavors merge.
- Add butter, cream, dill and parsley, then season with oregano sweet pepper and black pepper for taste. Mix everything and cook for few more minutes. Serve either immediately or later, cold.
