FUCZKI – SAUERKRAUT FRITTERS RECIPE – A simple yet tasty vegetarian dish, using popular in Eastern Europe sauerkraut 🙂
FUCZKI – SAUERKRAUT FRITTERS RECIPE
- 500 g/17 oz sauerkraut
- 250 g/2 cups wheat flour
- 375 ml/1½ cup milk
- ½ tsp marjoram
- 2 eggs
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- frying oil
- Throughly drain all juices from sauerkraut and roughly chop it.
- Take a large mixing bowl and pour flour in, follow up with milk, eggs, marjoram, salt and pepper, then mix well until everything merges. At this point add cut sauerkraut and stir everything again.
- Heat up some oil on a pan over medium-high heat. Using a tablespoon as a base measure, pour a couple fritters on the pan, leaving some room in between each. Fry for around 4 minutes on each side, until they reach a golden brown color.
- Take the fritters off the pan onto a plate lined with paper towel to drain excess oil. They’re good for serving either hot or cold.
