HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY JAM RECIPE – There’s a high chance everybody had tasted strawberry jam at one point 🙂 It’s a classic addition to breakfast, desserts or snacks, that you can now make at home yourself 🙂
HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY JAM RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 1 kg/35 oz strawberries
- 500 g/17½ oz sugar
- juice from a single lemon
Method:
- Wash, dry and remove the stems from strawberries.
- Put the strawberries into a pot and boil for around 15 minutes. When the fruits start releasing their juices, add sugar and lemon juice. Stir everything, making sure nothing gets burned.
- Cook the jam for 1,5 – 2,5 hours over small heat. While cooking, smash some of the strawberries and leave the rest intact. When the jam is ready dispatch it into jars and seal them tightly.
- Line a pot with cloth on the bottom. Place all jars into the pot (you can put cloth in between the jars for extra safety) and fill it with water to around three quarters of jars’ height. Bring the water to boil over high heat first, then reduce it to low and cook for 20 minutes. The jam is now pasteurized and will last much longer unopened.
