CHICKEN BAKED ON BEER RECIPE
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken, around 1,5 kg/52 oz
- 500 ml/17 oz light beer
- 5 tbsp oil
- juice from ½ lemon
- ½ tsp hot paprika
- ½ tsp sweet paprika
- ½ tsp marjoram
- ½ tsp granulated garlic
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Sides:
- 1 kg/35 oz potatoes
- 3 carrots
- 4 tbsp oil
- ⅓ tsp thyme
- ⅓ tsp granulated garlic
- ⅓ tsp sweet paprika
- ⅓ tsp ground coriander
- ⅓ tsp dill
- ⅓ tsp salt
- ⅓ tsp black pepper
Method:
- Clean the beer bottle throughly. Steam it with hot water, remove all stickers and possible remaining glue. Wash and clean the chicken.
- In a bowl mix together oil, lemon juice and spices. Smear the marinate over and inside the chicken, move it to a bowl, cover it and put away into the fridge for few hours or overnight.
- Peel and cut the carrots and potatoes into small pieces. Preheat the oven to 180°C/360°F.
- Stick the chicken on the beer bottle, then place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Lay down vegetable pieces around the bottle.
- Take a bowl and mix together oil with all spices but salt. Pour it over the vegetables, then season with salt.
- Place the tray on the bottom of the oven. Bake for around 1,5 hour (1 hour per 1 kg/35 oz of chicken). During the baking, mix the vegetables few times.
