STRAWBERRY PIEROGI RECIPE – A sweet version of a classic Polish dish. A tasty choice during strawberry season 🙂



  • 500 g/17½ oz flour
  • 50 g/1¾ oz butter
  • 250 ml/1 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 g/10½ oz strawberries
  • 2 tbsp sugar


  1. Wash all strawberries and hull them by removing the green cap. Cut them into smaller pieces, sprinkle with sugar and set them aside. On a large flat surface or in a large bowl put the flour, add butter, salt and water then knead into an elastic dough.
  2. Roll the dough into around 5 mm/¼ in thin. Use a regular glass or a form to cut out circles. Pick the leftover dough, roll and cut again. Repeat until all is used.
  3. Put 2-3 pieces of strawberry on each round, then carefully fold and squeeze the edges to stick them together.
  4. Boil around 2 l/68 fl oz water with salt. Put pierogi inside and cook until they emerge from water. Serve with either yoghurt or cream on top.
