HOMEMADE RHUBARB JAM RECIPE – Traditional and homemade, such jam can be used for pancakes, cakes and other desserts 🙂

HOMEMADE RHUBARB JAM RECIPE


Ingredients:

  • 1 kg/35¼ oz rhubarb
  • 500 g/17⅔ oz sugar


Method:

  1. Wash and peel the rhubarb, then cut it into small pieces. Put the cut rhubarb into a deep pan, add around ½ cup water and start cooking. 
  2. When rhubarb starts to break, add sugar and cook while stirring constantly to avoid burning it.
  3. Boil until all the liquids evaporate. Pour the jam into clean jars.
  4. Scald the jam to extend its expiration date: Put a clean cloth on the bottom of a pot and put the jars with jam inside with some space in between them. Pour water until little before the jar lids and bring it to boil. Scald the jars for around 15 minutes, take them out and make sure the lid is as tight as possible. Leave the jars overnight laying upside down on a cloth or paper towel, you’ll see if the jars are sealed properly.
